I imagine there is a whole book out there about misprinted recipes and the trouble they've caused. Maureen really liked the line about me telling her the food was only on fire for a minute. My worst disaster involved misreading a smudged recipe for cornbread, and putting in 4 cups of oil instead of 1/4 cup. Oops.
